Yuki Tsukumo’s Death in Jujutsu Kaisen: Who killed her?

Yuki Tsukumo

In the anime world, Jujutsu Kaisen is the hype right now, the story is cooking right now and the fans are loving it. The Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 episode 22 was one of the best episodes from the Mappa studio, Yuki Tsukumo entered the fight and stopped Uraume’s attacks on Yuji and other sorcerers. The fans went crazy when they saw her after a long time, this means that she will play a pivotal role in the fight against Kenjaku. She made a short appearance during the Hidden Inventory Arc, despite having less screen time this Yuki has a fanbase that adores her.

Yuki Tsukumo’s entrance was like a cherry on top for an episode full of bloodshed and fights, her introduction in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 was where the fans started loving this character. As we all are familiar with how strong Kenjaku is, he was able to turn someone strong like Mahito into an energy ball and gulped him down. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 23 will show us the fight between Yuki Tsukumo and Kenjaku, the bubbly sorcerer will throw her cards against an ancient sorcerer.

What will happen when they go against each other? well, you need to keep reading to find out.

How did Yuki Tsukumo Die?

When Yuki Tsukumo arrived on the battlefield to join other sorcerers, she was determined to take on Kenjaku head-on! She said her famous dialogue to Kenjaku “What type of Women do you like?” and blew this evil sorcerer a kiss. That kiss wasn’t needed but it was just a tease as she knew Geto Suguru, now let’s leave this aside and move to what exactly ended Yuji Tsukumo’s life.

If you’re a die-hard fan of Yuki then prepare yourself because her end was tragic, we weren’t able to witness her powers during her time as a sorcerer. In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 episode 22 Yuki entered the chat, but the manga has been running for a long time now and it’s quite ahead of the anime. In the manga, Yuki Tsukomo has already met her end at the hands of Kenjaku!

Yuki Tsukumo died in the Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 208 of the manga; the fans were always curious about her domain expansion. Yuki Tsukumo’s domain could create a black hole, that’s some crazy stuff right there! Imagine the mass it would need to create a black hole, but the downside is that it would rip off a lot of curse energy from her. The mysterious character Tengen had advised her not to use her domain expansion because it could lead to her death!

The plan was that Choso and Yuki would try to contain Kenjaku, the dynamic duo was phenomenal against a powerful curse like Kenjaku. Yuki used her Star Rage which damaged the villain severely, but that wasn’t enough to kill off an ancient sorcerer. He saw the opening and hit Yuki bang-on with a small version of Uzumaki, it was tiny but lethal enough to damage her. Yuki had no chance to heal using the reverse cursed technique, he used this to his advantage and chopped her through the torso. Choso played an important role in this battle, the death painting was able to push Kenjaku and create openings for Yuki.

Just when we thought the fight was over, Yuki grabbed Kenjaku and increased her mass which summoned a Black Hole! A Power so enormous that humanity has never been fully able to decipher it, this scared Kenjaku and we thought this was the end for him. But he pulled out a trump card and used Kaori Itadori’s (Yuji’s Mother) “Anti-Gravity System” technique, this nullified the mass created by Yuki’s Star Rage.

This was a suicide attack by Yuki Tsukumo to kill off Kenjaku, but she was outsmarted by the villain and had to lose her life. Fans were sad that a popular character like Yuki was killed off this way, they felt Gege Akutami could have used her more in the manga.

We will probably see Yuki and Choso vs Kenjaku in the Season finale of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2! You can watch the anime on Crunchyroll or Funimation.
